Julie's Retirement Limerick
As Julie prepares to retire, She works right down to the wire, She;s one of a kind, And has a good mind, She's someone we;ll always admire For eighteen years she was a teacher, Third grade and reading were her feature It was her style, She had for awhile, Until she became a preacher. As Julie was preaching one day, She really knew what to say, This job is great, A number ten it will rate, As she gives a message each Sunday. She likes to ballroom dance, Whenever she gets a chance, She wears a long dress, With lots of finesse, Her talent she tries to enhance. In Ireland she loved the beach, Which wasn't hard to reach, She sat in the sun, Which was really fun, While she ate a delicious peach. She visited England one year, And saw the castle of Highclere, Of Downtown Abbey set, Which she'll never forget, It's a show that she'll always hold dear. She likes to watch T.V., Like "Little House on the Prairie", With Laura and Ma, Young Charles, and Pa, And the family she likes to see. As you leave we pray with you, Many things you want to do, Have a great time, And don't spend a dime, And remember to think of us, too. - Joan Eshelman |
