                      The Face of God

Dear Unity Family,

I am looking forward to our Eastern Region AUC Conference to be held at the Hershey Motor Lodge at the end of September. The theme is "The Sweetness of Team" and it will include creating teams, educating and empowering teams and working and playing as teams.

There are great benefits to being part of a team. In Matthew 18:20, Jesus tells us, "For where two or more are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them." I believe he is saying that when people come together in a spirit of cooperation, compassion, joy, peace and love, energy is generated. We are able to do more and be more than we can do or be alone.

Being part of a team enables us to discover and use our spiritual gifts, grow spiritually, and experience deep connections with others.

Here at Unity Church we are a team, a spiritual family. Our purpose as a spiritual family team is to know and express God's peace, joy, and love. Within our ministry are a variety of teams designed to allow each of us to share our individual gifts, talents, and abilities and enable our ministry to be most effective. These teams include a prayer team, a building maintenance team, a hospitality team, and a music team, to name a few. We encourage each person in our spiritual family to be actively involved in at least one ministry team.

In October we will be focusing on teamwork. Our October bulletin will include a list of ministry teams and an opportunity to choose the team(s) on which you would like to serve. We invite you to give prayerful consideration to what is yours to do to serve Unity Church in peace, joy, and love.
